Unusual day

Other than getting bad (to a greater or lesser degree) news from more than one friend via lj, today was a good but very unusual day. Reid got me up at 6, and I discovered that Laura simply hadn't gone to sleep the night before. So she was the Adult On Call while I slept in until 11. Then I went shopping with Reid and stopped by Tina's to drop off some fruit salad on the way to Barnes and Noble and its train table--but Reid fell asleep before we got there, so I came home. Most of the rest of the afternoon was dozing or outright sleeping in one place or another. In the evening I played a lot with Reid and got him to sleep easily, did some dishes, and then finished the book I was reading. (I would say "manuscript," which is what it technically is, but that always makes me think of vellum and antique handwriting). Before bedtime, Reid wanted me to read some of it out to him, and he liked the bit about the half-giantess more than the bit about the troll.

Laura finally fell asleep around 6:30 PM, so I'm crossing my fingers that she will be up early and I can sleep in again. (Woot!) I'm enjoying the calm feeling of being rested. I would not complain about being able to continue within it.

Fully rested is a wonderful thing, and being deprived of it for over 2 weeks now, I totally know how you feel in wanting more of it :)
